Georgia Grown

On Saturday, the Georgia Department of Agriculture hosted the first Georgia Grown Farmer Showcase at the State Farmer's Market in Forest Park.  What an exciting day!  So many great operations from around the state were represented.  It was fun to walk around and taste samples and chat with friends!  There were the big peach farms: Dickey, Jaemor and Lane.  There were also other aspects of agriculture represented: The Rock Ranch along with Jaemor represented the Agritourism industry.  Our friends Matt and Melissa from Bottoms nursery were selling blueberries and plants.  We finally got to meet their newest edition!  There were cut flower nurseries, pony rides, bakeries, pea and bean growers, and many, many more.

Breads, beans, squash, plums, nectarines, blackberries, and peaches!

Drew and Chris, the produce pimps.

Ian was a tremendous help!

Mrs. Echols always knows what needs to be done.

Thanks for the Chick-fil-A cow.  Moo!
This looks serious.

Cohen was the official berry taster.  If it wasn't sweet, spit it on the ground.

Watch out boys!

Friday we took Willis to be neutered. Poor guy.

Chloe had all kinds of questions about what they were doing to him. I kept telling her that they were doing surgery to make him be nicer. I was purposefully vague because she might not notice any difference.  Why tell her more than she would notice?

When we picked him up Saturday morning, Chloe wanted to sit in the back seat beside the crate.  As soon as I put him in the crate in the car, Chloe said, "Mom! They put stitches on his privates!" Hmm... how in the world do I explain this one?  I finally decided to tell her that they took off the part of his "privates" that can make dogs meaner. Without missing a beat, she said, "well, they need to do that to some of my friends at school."  I love that girl!

Hey! Go Team! Hey! Go Team! Go!

Hey! Go Team! Hey! Go Team! Go!

Cheerleading camp.  The one camp I didn't want Chloe to attend.  I don't know why.  It was inevitable that she would want to be a cheerleader.  But, man, I dreaded it so much.

...she was killing me in that mini skirt... (part of the dance they learned)

Sharing carpool duties with Jennifer and Emmaline made the week much easier.  The conclusion of cheerleading camp was on Friday at noon.  The girls learned cheers, dances, made banners, tie-dyed socks, and painted hairbows.  Mrs. Brooks did a fabulous job keeping the girls interested.  Chloe adores her and the "big" cheerleaders from the varsity squad.  Her favorite part was making socks and hairbows.

Chloe got to call the first cheer! Hey! Go Team!
At the parent showcase, Chloe got to call the first cheer.  "Hey! Go Team! Hey! Go Team! Go!" was her favorite cheer to practice all week.  Some of the girls did flips, they all did jumps, cheers, and their groups performed a dance.  That was one of the cutest things I have ever seen.  A country music montage seemed perfect for my girlie's group!   I think I took more pictures of cheer camp parent showcase than all of the other moms combined!  Funny how my perspective changed.

Getting to use the Varsity Cheerleaders' poms was a big deal!

Just Another Day

Today has been one of those days when we go and go and go...
First stop, the new Dunkin Donuts.  A 25 count of blueberry munchkins, coffee, and oj was  for breakfast.
Chloe was a huge fan of the munchkins.  Cohen wanted a biscuit, so we stopped at Longstreet Cafe and grabbed him a plain biscuit.
Next stop, Cumming for occupational therapy.  Today's theme was pirates, argh!  First task after astronaut was to cut paper to make a pirate hat.  Sweet therapists made sure Chloe got to make one too!  After the hats were complete, they boarded the ship (swing) and set sail. But, Cohen had to walk the plank (a series of benches at different heights).

Seriously, have you ever seen such adorable pirates?!

After lunch with Grandma in Cornelia, we met Mrs. Laine at Jaemor.  She made Cohen a super cute surprise!  No more dress up in Chloe's Cinderella dress!

Ok.  Here we go.  My very first attempt at blogging.  I created my blog over a year ago and never have posted the first thing.  There may never be a soul who reads this.  That is ok.  I just want to have a written account of things that matter to me.  So, let the good times roll!

This week has been hectic.  We have had VBS all week (today is Wednesday, day 4) and we are all exhausted!  Holly began the summer sitting the kids Monday and Tuesday so I could actually work.  Funny that I have to work so I can pay the sitter...

Cohen had physical therapy today with Ms Nicole.  He was exhausted.  After therapy, we stopped by The Varsity and grabbed some dogs, onion rings, and frosted oranges and met Drew and Chloe at Jaemor for lunch.  Yummy.  Did I mention that Chloe worked with Drew today while Cohen and I went to Cumming?  Nothing lazy about that girl.  Love her...

Chloe's work boots...

We have all bathed and are ready for Bible School.

Nothing astounding happened today, except that we all got to spend time together in our own ways.  Making memories...
